MIT Stitch & Bitch heard around town?

A couple people today mentioned that they've heard other knitters talking about a knitting group at MIT. Could they be talking about our humble group? There are a couple of other knitting groups at MIT besides ours. But do they have email lists and blogs, not to mention a wonderful and growing group of knitters and crocheters?

I doubt it.

Just kidding -- I'm sure they are great people, too!

Here is some clarification about our group:

We are mostly employees of MIT. We come from all different departments - some academic, some administrative, and we have varying job descriptions. Our common thread (pun intended) is knitting and crocheting. At this point, we don't have any students in the group (although anyone is welcome!) and no faculty, or engineers, as far as I know.

A lot of Knitters Today!

We have a record attendance today at MIT S&B! 13 knitters and more keep coming in!

I'm currently giving a demo on how to use Blogger, so excuse this post.

Here is a sample photo (not of knitting!):

The above photo was not entered via Flickr, but by linking directly to a file in my Athena locker. These are my kitties, George and Katrina.

MIT Stitch & Bitch gets with the times

MIT Stitch & Bitch is a group of knitters and crocheters who work at MIT. We meet fairly regularly to work on our projects, show off finished pieces, new books and fancy yarn, or get some help when we're stuck on something.

The group began meeting informally nearly a year ago as a few coworkers who were relatively new to knitting wanted to share their new obsession and took off over IAP when a bunch of like-minded knitters and crocheters met at "Knit or Crochet by the Numbers," sponsored by the Math dept. Now, the group meets almost every week and has an email list.

I've taken it one step further and got us a blog!
